Care with Confidence Polmont Programme – March 2019

The new Care with Confidence sessions in Polmont will start on Thursday 7 March 2019, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, for six weeks at the Greenpark Community Centre, Greenpark Drive, Polmont FK2 0PZ    All carers are welcome and there is no cost to attend sessions.

Come along to hear about the services that are available to support carers and those they care for. Topics include Stress & Relaxation, Facing Challenges, Being Heard, Communicating Effectively, What is Dementia? and What is Autism?

Care with Confidence – Clackmannanshire Programme

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Monday 25 February 2019, 10.00 am to 12.00 noon, at Ludgate House, Mar Place, Alloa FK10 1AD  Please note the change of venue!   All carers are welcome and there is no cost to attend sessions.

Topics include an introduction to the Patient Advice & Support Service, finding out more about local Pharmacy Services and a session on Home Fire Safety from the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.

CAMHS Learning Disability Team Information Sessions

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Learning Disability Team working with Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, is offering information sessions and workshops for parents, grandparents/carers of school aged children who have been formally diagnosed by CAMHS as having an Intellectual Disability or Global Developmental Delay by Paediatrics.

We are pleased to invite you to a carer’s group which will focus on understanding and managing behaviour. This group will run  for 4 weeks beginning on Wednesday 20 February, 12.30 pm to 2 pm at the Centre in Falkirk.

Care with Confidence Falkirk : Adults with Autism February to March 2019

The Autism Team within Adult Mental Health, working with Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, is offering workshops discussing living with Stress and Distress for adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

These workshops are for adults who have received a diagnosis of Autism within NHS Forth Valley.  Everyone experiences Stress and Distress in their lives.  However those diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder report experiencing stress and distress for more prolonged periods and in more situations than those adults who do not have the condition.  These workshops will explore this and look at how to manage this stress to improve daily life.  To view the Programme, click on the link below:

Care with Confidence in Clackmannanshire – Chair Yoga

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Wednesday 30 January 2019, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, at Hawkhill Community Centre, 32 Hillcrest Drive, Alloa FK10 1SB

Come along to enjoy the benefits of yoga from the comfort of your chair.  These sessions will combine gentle stretching movements with breathing exercises and guided relaxation. Yoga can often help you to slow down, lower anxiety levels, relax your muscles an improve your sleep and concentration.  Other benefits attributed to yoga are increased flexibility, strength, more energy and better posture.

Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Information Sessions – January to March 2019

The Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Sessions are open to carers of people with a confirmed diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia.
 
The monthly sessions provide information and support to carers in an informal setting.  Professionals are also invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.

Guardianship Orders

Planning for the future and assisting the person you care for to make decisions is an important consideration for many carers. Come along to learn about the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and provisions for protecting the welfare of adults who are unable to take decisions for themselves.

The session will be facilitated by Solicitors for Older People Scotland who provide support to older people and vulnerable young adults.
