Planning for the future and assisting the person you care for to make decisions is an important consideration for many carers. Come along to learn about the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and provisions for protecting the welfare of adults who are unable to take decisions for themselves.

The session will be facilitated by Solicitors for Older People Scotland who provide support to older people and vulnerable young adults.

The Centre in Falkirk is running a programme of Fronto Temporal Dementia Carer Sessions from January to March 2017, starting on Friday 27 January.  The sessions are open to carers of people with a confirmed diagnosis of Fronto Temporal Dementia.

The monthly sessions provide information and support to carers in an informal setting. Professionals are also invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.

The sessions will take place on the last Friday of each calendar month.

People with Fronto-Temporal Dementias have very different needs from those with Alzheimer’s Disease and Vascular Dementia and their carers can feel isolated from other carers as their personal situations are very different from their own.

These sessions are open to carers in Forth Valley who care for someone who has a confirmed diagnosis of Fronto-Temporal Dementia. Monthly meetings will be held to provide advice and social support in an informal setting.

Professionals are invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.
