Local carers are invited to a festive Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 11 December 2018 from 12 noon to 2 pm.
The Carers Christmas Lunch brings carers together to relax, have a break from their caring role, meet and chat with other carers and have some festive fun.
Lunches will be held at the Grange Manor Hotelย in Falkirk FK3 8XJย and Dunmar House in Alloa FK10 2EN.

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Tuesday 25 September 2018, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, at the Carers Centre in Falkirk.
Hear from various professionals about the services that are available to support carers and those they care for. Topics include Dementia and Sensory Challenges, Social Work Re-ablement Project and Home Fire Safety.

The meeting will include an update on the local Short Breaks Statement.ย The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 which came into force on 1 April 2018 will place a new duty on local authorities to prepare and publish a Short Breaks Services Statement.ย There will be an opportunity to discuss the local Short Breaks statement which will provide carers and the person they care for with information about the short breaks services available locally and across Scotland.

Applications are invited for the Better Breaks Outing for children and young people (up to 20 years) with additional support needs and their families across Falkirk and Clackmannanshire:
Transport will be made available to those families who require it and would like to travel with the larger group.ย Families are also welcome to self-travel and attend independently.ย As in previous years, and in keeping with Better Breaks funding criteria, a small contribution of ยฃ2.50 per head will be required towards admission.

For the first time, Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre will offer the adult Seasons for Growth programme which aims to build resilience and bring hope and confidence to carers who have experienced significant change or loss.
Grief may be due to any number of experiences including bereavement, relationship breakdown, caring or experiencing ill health. It may be a recent loss, or something that happened a long time ago.

Please note that the Carers Act Evening Event to be held on Wednesday 10 January 2018ย hasย been rescheduled to Thursday 15 February 2018, 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the Carers Centre, 1a Bank Street, Falkirkย FK1 1NB.
With the implementation of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 in April 2018, Local Authorities are required to publish local eligibility criteria outlining the levels of support carers can expect. Carers in Falkirk who were unable to attend the December event at the Park Hotel to involve carers in the design of the eligibility criteria are invited to attend this event in February.
The meeting will include an update on the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and the opportunity to be involved with partners in health and social care to determine how the needs of local carers will be met in the future.
