Carers Act Evening Event on Thursday 15 February 2018

With the implementation of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 in April 2018, local authorities are required to publish local eligibility criteria outlining the levels of support carers can expect. This is another opportunity for carers in Falkirk, who were unable to attend the December event at the Park Hotel to participate in the co-design of local eligibility criteria, to join us for an evening meeting on Thursday 15 February, 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the Carers Centre.
The meeting will include an update on the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and the opportunity to be involved with partners in health and social care to determine how the needs of local carers will be met in the future. If you would like more information or to book a place, please contact the Centre.

What Carers Need to Know at Denny Library

The Carers Centre in Falkirk is running a new programme, What Carers Need to Know, starting on Thursday 8 February to 8 March 2018 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm in Denny Library.

What Carers Need to Know is a 5 week programme designed to give carers essential information to develop confidence in their caring role.

Care with Confidence – Clackmannanshire

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Wednesday 31 January 2018, 10.00 am to 12 noon, at the Hawkhill Community Centre in Alloa.

Hear from various professionals, about the services that are available to support carers and those they care for. Topics will include Dementia & the Hospital, Footcare, Sleep and the Adult Carers Support Plan.

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Tuesday 30 January 2018, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, at the Carers Centre in Falkirk.

Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Information

The Frontotemporal Dementia Carer sessions are open to carers of people with a confirmed diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia.

The monthly sessions provide information and support to carers in an informal setting. Professionals are also invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.

Carers Act Evening Event rescheduled to Thursday 15 February 2018

Please note that the Carers Act Evening Event to be held on Wednesday 10 January 2018 has been rescheduled to Thursday 15 February 2018, 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the Carers Centre, 1a Bank Street, Falkirk FK1 1NB.

Integration Joint Board (IJB) Carer Representative Role Remit

Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is seeking to recruit two carer representatives to the Integration Joint Board (IJB), with one as the lead and the other as a substitute. Two further drop-in sessions are being held for anyone interested to ask questions and learn more about the positions.

There are two dates arranged for the New Year:

16th January 2018 from 13.00 – 14.30 at Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Redbrae Road, Camelon, Falkirk FK1 4DD
16th January 2018 from 18.00 – 19.00 at Falkirk Community Hospital, Administration Offices, Westburn Avenue, Falkirk, FK1 5SU

Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is seeking to recruit two carer representatives and two service user representatives to the Integration Joint Board (IJB), with one as the lead and the other as a substitute for both groups.

Three drop-in sessions are being held for anyone interested to ask questions and learn more about the positions.

Clackmannanshire Carers Act Event on Friday 8 December 2017 at the Municipal Buildings, Stirling

Please join us at the Clackmannanshire Carers Act Event, 10 am to 12 noon or 2 pm to 4 pm with lunch available from 12 noon – 2 pm on Friday 8 December 2017 at the Municipal Buildings, Stirling.

This event is an opportunity to discuss pathways to accessing support, information/advice for carers, eligibility criteria, what works well now, what gaps exist, and consideration of other models of support.
