Falkirk Carers, you are invited to this consultation to share your experiences!ย 

Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is working in partnership with Falkirk Council on a new Trauma-Informed Strategy and Action Plan, which aims to improve various services available across the Falkirk District.

They want to ensure that their plans draw on real-life experiences and are grounded in what matters most to the community. Your insights, as a carer, will be invaluable in highlighting what works and what needs to change

Carersโ€™ Voice meetings provide an opportunity for carers to meet with other carers, representatives from local authorities, and other third sector organisations.

Local carers are invited to a festive Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 10 December 2019 from 12 noon to 2 pm.

The Carers Christmas Lunch brings carers together to relax, have a break from their caring role, meet and chat with other carers and have some festive fun.

Care with Confidence

Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Sessions

The Frontotemporal Dementia Carer Sessions are open to carers of people with a confirmed diagnosis of Frontotemporal Dementia.ย  The monthly sessions provide information and support to carers in an informal setting.ย  Professionals are also invited on a regular basis to talk about the clinical, social and legal aspects of care.

The programme which includes sessions on Food for Thought, Stress & Distress and a Topic Choice chosen by the carers who attend will start on Friday 28 September from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.ย  Thereafter the group will meet on the last Friday in October and November 2018.

Care with Confidence in Falkirk: What Carers Need to Know

The What Carers Need to Know programme will help carers to improve their confidence and develop their knowledge and understanding of their caring role.ย  For those who cannot attend our day time programmes, we are offering carers an opportunity to attend six evening sessions, 6 pm to 8 pm,ย at Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, starting on Wednesday 12 September 2018.ย ย Refreshments and finger buffet will be available on arrival.ย  Please download a programme for more information.

Carers Act Evening Event on Thursday 15 February 2018

With the implementation of the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 in April 2018, local authorities are required to publish local eligibility criteria outlining the levels of support carers can expect. This is another opportunity for carers in Falkirk, who were unable to attend the December event at the Park Hotel to participate in the co-design of local eligibility criteria, to join us for an evening meeting on Thursday 15 February, 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the Carers Centre.
The meeting will include an update on the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 and the opportunity to be involved with partners in health and social care to determine how the needs of local carers will be met in the future. If you would like more information or to book a place, please contact the Centre.

Care with Confidence – Falkirk

The new Care with Confidence sessions start on Tuesday 30 January 2018, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, at the Carers Centre in Falkirk.

Hear from various professionals, about the services that are available to support carers and those they care for.ย Topics will include Dementia & the Hospital, Residential Care – Who Can Help? and Residential Care – Costs.

Carers Act Evening Event rescheduled to Thursday 15 February 2018

Please note that the Carers Act Evening Event to be held on Wednesday 10 January 2018ย hasย been rescheduled to Thursday 15 February 2018, 6 pm to 7.30 pm at the Carers Centre, 1a Bank Street, Falkirkย FK1 1NB.
